A few weeks ago, during a meeting between my Literary Agent, Dennis Schleicher, and a yet-unnamed publishing company (I’m not quite certain of the etiquette of the matter, since there was nothing in writing), the full manuscript for The Car That Ran On Prayers was requested.
It is big news. Someone wants to read the entire thing. And I need to finish rewriting it.
The Car That Ran on Prayers began as a 24-hour essay. An exercise in one of my creative nonfiction writing classes.
The assignment required that we narrate a 24-hour episode of our lives. I was living a quite adventurous life at that time and reflected upon a period of time I was living.
Over the last four years, the essay was expanded into a creative nonfiction long-form essay, then eventually outlining and planning out my book.
As a part of filling out the meat of the details in the book, I will be traveling back in time through reviewing photos and social media shares over the time period of July 2016-June 2017.
As I rewrite and edit those portions of the book, I will be sharing on my social media outlets photos from those time periods.
You will know the flashbacks I’m currently editing by the hashtag: TheCarThatRanOnPrayers.
Make sure you are following the book’s page (YES, the BOOK has its OWN page!) on Facebook, The Car That Ran on Prayers, as well as my author page on the same social media site: Maggie Slighte, Author.
Please follow me on social media for ALL of the most recent information!!
I have been very busy on this book, often writing late into the nights. But in this little way, I will try to bring YOU, my readers, into my world of The Car That Ran on Prayers.
I thank YOU for your prayers and support during this exciting time in my life!
Love and Lighte!
